James H. Salter, P.E.   -   President

Prior to founding Atlantic Engineering Group (AEG) in January 1996, James Salter served various roles in the electric utility industry – from Operations Engineer to System Network Engineer to General Manager. At AEG, he has led our firm in a myriad of roles including consultant, designer, builder, operator, and network owner. He is a former Chairman of the Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) Council and has 30+ years of experience in utility and telecommunications engineering. Mr. Salter earned his degree in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech and is a registered Professional Engineer in multiple states. His principal role at AEG is business strategy and resources.


Mark Metcalf   -   Managing Partner

Mark joined AEG in 2011 from Intercontinental Hotel Group, Inc. where he was in charge of capital investments and transactions; he has held the position as the Vice President of Finance until the beginning of 2015 when he stepped into the role as Managing Partner of Network Ownership. Mark's responsibilities are focused on managing AEG's network ownership initiative and creating and growing a new division of business. Mark holds a degree in Finance from the University of Georgia.
